Quality matters
Product Quality
With the ever changing demands on agriculture, traceability within the food chain is key and we take great care in the selection of quality ingredients, so that their source meets our stringent criteria for the production of the finished product. All our raw materials and products meet strictly controlled quality criteria.
UFAS
The 1990 Food Safety Act was introduced to ensure the exercise of due diligence throughout the food chain, and UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme) developed to cover the production and delivery of compound feeds, and the supply of feed materials to the farm. Our manufacturing plant at Fordingbridge was at the forefront, gaining UFAS accreditation in 2000. The livestock farmer also benefits from the fact that we manufacture horse feeds, which has very strict controls relating to drug testing applicable to competition horses.
We are also able to carry the EFSIS logo, who are the auditing body overseeing the implementation and auditing of the UFAS Scheme.
Dust Control
In order to reduce dust and increase both shelf-life and palatability, we add a blend of molasses and oils (Molglo) to coat our coarse mixes. This also ensures immediate uptake of the products, helping all animals (young and old, especially) to have an available balanced palatable feed. Our custom-built manufacturing process incorporates the latest technology, which means products are blended without breakages, or creation of dust.
